ALMOST PARADE READY: FCTA employees have been spending spare time recently building a float for the upcoming Candyland Parade in the Twin Cities of Fulton, KY and South Fulton, TN. It was truly a team effort as Executive Director Kevin Kelley, Building and Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Chris Brown, Mechanic Bill Shoemaker, and Shop Laborer Braxton Jewell built most of the items on the float itself. Deputy Director Kristin Grooms, Billing Clerk Kendall Etherton, and Dispatcher Jo Ann Gardiner (all pictured above), are putting last minute touches on some of the float pieces. The Christmas event, which follows the same route as the Banana Festival Lions Club Grand Parade, will kick off at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, December 7. The FCTA float will join other parade entries beginning at 4 p.m. on Smith Street in South Fulton, TN. Following the parade, a group of carolers will perform in front of the Twin Cities Christmas Tree in Pontotoc Park. At 7 p.m., the lights on the tree will be turned on and fireworks will follow immediately after the tree lighting. The TCMO Chili Supper will begin in the Pontotoc Center at 6 p.m. Santa will visit with kids of all ages during the chili supper. Come out for all of these festivities!

INSPECTION TIME: The seven new vehicles received by FCTA underwent an electronic inspection earlier this month. All FCTA vehicles must be inspected by GRITS, the agency's Medicare broker, before clients can ride in them. In the past, a GRITS employee physically inspected them, but in the technological age, they were able to do this inspection virtually.  Executive Director Kevin Kelley, with the help of the Maintenance Team, guided the inspections of each vehicle. FCTA should receive at least 15 more vehicles before the end of FY25.
